Fancy Nancy Cake

by April Goff on July 17, 2009

There aren’t even words for how FANCY this cake was!  The instructions were “make a cake that Fancy Nancy would like” so this is what I did.  I got the original book and just picked out elements and patterns from it and came up with this tiny masterpiece.  Believe it or not the flower on top started out much bigger than this but I ended up cutting the petals down because it would have completely taken over the whole cake.  This cake took hours and I still didn’t get everything on it that I wanted before it had to be delivered.  I guess it’s probably a good thing, it was getting out of hand.  The gold butterflies on the springs were my favorite.  I had a BALL making this cake.  I think it’s definitely my most “fancy” one yet for sure.  :o)  My job makes me happy!

Hi April, it's Rachel (from Kristy's party) I LOVE ALL YOUR CAKES! You are amazing. So I only have two questions….What does your kitchen look like after a FULL days work? and When are you going to sign up for the Food Network "cake CHALLENGE"? You are that good! I can't wait to some day try your yummy creations!

You are incredible. Congrats on the shop, I can't wait! One day when all my kids are gone, maybe I can come be your free assistant and learn how to bake those amazing cupcakes! Maybe its that preggo hormones, but my mouth waters when I read your comments.
Good Luck with everything
